FP1 and FP2 underway on Friday
The Formula 1 circus is back at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, and there's been plenty of action on and off the track already. Here's all the latest news from the home of British motorsport.
First practice
The first practice session of the weekend got underway at 1230pm BST, with Lando Norris setting the pace for McLaren. The young British driver was just 0.024 seconds faster than Sergio Perez in the Red Bull, with Carlos Sainz third for Ferrari. World champion Max Verstappen was fourth, ahead of Fernando Alonso in the Alpine and Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.
FP2
The second practice session began at 4pm BST, and it was once again Norris who set the pace. The McLaren driver was 0.341 seconds faster than Verstappen this time, with Sainz third and Hamilton fourth. Perez was fifth, ahead of Alonso and George Russell in the Mercedes.
Qualifying
Qualifying for the British Grand Prix will take place on Saturday at 3pm BST. Verstappen will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the drivers' standings, while Hamilton will be hoping to win his home race for the eighth time.
Race day
The British Grand Prix will take place on Sunday at 3pm BST. Verstappen will start from pole position, with Sainz alongside him on the front row. Norris will start third, ahead of Hamilton in fourth and Perez in fifth.
